The inspiration behind the charity
Military Vehicle for Charity Inc comes from a place of healing and human connection, the pursuit to help people who have experienced the impact of war.
As a registered charity, all our profits go back to causes we are passionate about: supporting Australian war veterans of all conflicts and disadvantaged people in Vietnam.
The Military Vehicle base in Bowral is called Nui Dat RnR after the Australian Army base in the Vietnam War. It’s the home of the Southern Highlands Vietnam Veterans Association, a safe place for people impacted by war to informally gather, work on the vehicles, have a coffee, share stories and heal. Visitors are welcome, by appointment.

A large proportion of profits raised by Military Vehicle for Charity Inc are donated directly to Maison Chance, a non-governmental organisation, based Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Our donations provide shelter, education, and vocational training to disadvantaged people.

We are proudly supported by Destination Southern Highlands and local wineries including Centennial Vineyard and Tractorless Vineyard. We are lucky to also have a number of generous local volunteers and financial contributors.
The person behind the giving: Vinh Tran
The early years of Vinh’s life were spent experiencing first-hand the after-effects of The Vietnam War. Vinh’s eldest sister, Trang, made the perilous boat journey to Australia in 1981 and Vinh, along with his parents, joined her in Australia in 1989. Vinh got married and now has four children and a local restaurant at The Mill in Bowral.
